This year the membership cards and programs are being handed out and not mailed, and most were distributed on Opening Night Sunday 16 February. This seemed to go smoothly thanks to everyone who took the opportunity to enjoy a drink and chat with other members! If you were unable to come on Opening Night, don’t worry, there will be someone at the door in future weeks, to issue remaining membership cards and programs. See you at the movies!
The IFS, a not for profit organsation, was launched on 10th November 2012. The aim of the IFS is not just about seeing films but also about the pleasure of seeing independent and arthouse films on the big screen and in the company of others. Our members have the opportunity and the pleasure of catching art house films right here in Wollongong. We hope that the Illawarra Film Society (IFS) will become a focal point for the social and cultural life here. We show a range of film genres to suit everyone’s cinematic taste – from independent, foreign, arthouse to home-grown films, as well as a selection of classics. WHEN? Illawarra Film Society will screen on 30 Sunday evenings throughout the year at 7.00 pm at Greater Union Cinema, Burelli St. Wollongong.
